A Fashion Show to Support Women
“I want my granddaughter to know I was here.”
But one moment especially stayed with me: seeing a great grandmother, grandmother, mother and daughter all involved together in the same organization. Four generations of women showing up for women.
That image hit me right in the heart.
Because maybe empowerment doesn’t always look like history books and protests and headlines. Sometimes it looks like mentoring. Friendship. Fundraisers. Education. Women building each other up little by little, generation after generation, making sure no woman gets left behind.
“I want my sisters to know I was here.”
That is what Soroptomists is about. Fundraising to provide education and career opportunities for women.
And! I love that Soroptimist fundraising events center around things many women genuinely love — fashion, gardens, design, creativity, community — while also raising funds to help women and girls thrive through education and opportunity.
